Default Favorite Bait For Freshwater Fishing

What's your favorite bait for freshwater fishing? Do you prefer live or lures? Personally I prefer live bait, either worms or minnows; however I use lures sometimes for convenience.

As Hank Hill would say, nothing beats worms. I have tried other things though. Worms are my favorite though.

Worms is the most easily available bait in my place, so I use them in most my fishing trips. I like worms anyway as the trout like them. I also use lures occasionally, just for fun.

Worms are great but if I don't plan ahead and get some, Powerbait doesn't a pretty good job in the area where I live, especially the pink stuff.

Worms and more worms. I prefer worms all the time when we fish. I think the fish bite quicker and more often when you are using real bait.

Besides worms, I also sometimes use leeches. I notice that some trout strike my bait pretty fast when I am using leeches. Those blood suckers are not easily available though.
