Default archery question

So my Husband picked up a bow at a yard sale. I do not know much about them, but it has a 30# on it. What does that mean? It is hard to pull back, let alone aim.

The number 30# is most likely the draw weight. I do believe you can take it to a local archery shop and have them set it up for you. They can reduce the draw weight so it is easier for you to draw back. They can also offer you tips on shooting it, and most likely let you know about some local clubs.
