I am dying to go white water rafting this year but would love some suggestions on where to go. I am a newbie so will probably need a guided trip. Any ideas?

If you are in the east, you may want to try the Youghiogheny River in Ohiopyle, PA. They have kayaks and multi-person rafts, and different sections of the river allow for beginners all the way up to highly challenging rapids.
The Thompson River or Hells Gate, in British Columbia. Both are very well-known and quite lively, especially the Hell's Gate trip. Both offer quite a ride.
