Default Deadliest Catch loses a captain.

I love watching this series. One of my favorite captains is Phil Harris. Last season Phil had some serious health issues that forced him off the boat. While he managed to make his way back to his boat for another season, I recently found out he had a stroke and subsequenty passed away.

I feel for his family. The Bering Sea won't be the same without Phil out there.

He was one of my favorite captain's as well. I hope his son's continue with the show in the new season. I knew he was having some serious health issues in the season before.

I'm going to miss Captain Phil. You could see how close he and his sons were and I'm wondering if they are going to be able to go on. This casts a long shadow on this upcoming season.

I was very sorry to hear of Captain Phil's death. I understand his son, Jake, got arrested for DWI about two days later. I can understand that pain very well. Phil was one of my favorites on the show and I'm going to miss him.

I feel sad for the family. They were very close so it is going to hit them really hard. To bad for the son who got arrested. I guess I can understand why he was out getting drunk. They should cut him some slack.

Although I'm saddened by the fact that Phil Harris is gone, the police should not give some slack to Jake for driving while intoxicated. He might harm others when is drunk while driving.

Rest in peace captain Phil! I read a news that his dust have been poured into the Bering Sea. At least he is at home in the Bering Sea now.

Phil was awesome but I do feel for his boys, I lost my parents when I was semi young as well and its hard when your a young adult (or coming to that age) to lose a parent.

Happy - I disagree, DUI is DUI plain and simple. I have a feeling if you caught the show I watched the other night (Police Women of Maricopa County) you would have changed your mind. A young teen boy was strike by a DUI and ended up with severe head trauma. What if that was your kid that Jake could have hit being DUI?
