Default The Caves and Gander Mountain

So our trip to Gander Mountain was a bust. We went to the Ocala store. Great store, I think there was more camping and kayaking stuff then Bass Pro. Their boat and fishing sections left me wanting. They had some great stuff there. I might have bought a few things if I had the money. I liked how they had the riffles displayed. You where able to hold them, and can see prices without having to look over a counter and on a curve display. I would go back in the future for other camping related stuff. Still want to try an REI store though.

On our way back my brother had mentioned some "caves" in Brooksville. These are unofficial. You park on the side of the road and follow a small trail maybe a mile or so. They did have a rope on one side of the hole for the cave. There was a family packing up camp next to the cave. It was pretty neat, there is a small bridge that goes over the cave, with a sky light on one side and a place to climb down on the other. There was some water in one corner, with a small hole a lady went through to wash off. Not sure what was behind there. Next to that was another small hole to enter another room. There were some smaller ones around the area. And we were told where some others may be but we did not go. We may plan a trip when it gets cooler, and we can bring proper equipment.

The pictures are great, sorry to hear the trip was a bust. I've always wanted to go to a cave that wasn't widely known about. How safe are they though?

It was not much of a cave. But it was neat none the less. It was up near Brooksville area, which would be a few hours north of Tampa.

There is one place I would love to visit. It is further north. They say it is like a mini-rain forest. I believe it is a 100 foot deep sink hole. It has been turned into a park, and from what I seen looks great.
