I've had lots of fun here but I must part ways. I'm leaving in a few days to go on a 12 month backpacking trip all over the eastern US. I won't have a chance to get back online before I leave, so I'll say my goodbye's now.

I'm a bit late in responding but I think this is a awesome. What a great opportunity to be outdoors and living in the wild. I wish I could have done something like this before having kids and responsibilities!

Wow, I can't imagine backpacking around for a whole year, though. I like nature and all but I would miss my creature comforts too much if it was that long. Living in the northeast, I can say that you will encounter some absolutely gorgeous views and a great variety of terrains.

If you haven't checked out Newandthal's blog you really should. He has lot's of interesting reading concerning his trip and adjusting to being home. I think I'm going to be checking out his book. It sure sounds like interesting reading.
