Default Bread idea

When we go on trips it always seems like our bread either gets squashed or it will disappear. What ideas have you came up with the save your bread?

We use rubbermaid breadsaver containers to take bread in. They don't get squished and the bread stays soft instead of going stale, which is likely to happen if someone doesn't put the twist tie back on.

I guess I will have to order one of those canisters from the internet because I can't find them at Walmart. It is bad when I want or need something then they don't have it.

I haven't seen them in any other local stores either but it sounds like a good idea for the house as well as for trips.

We make our own bread that can last for more than 5 days. The key is to make it as thin as possible. Strong and hard crust, almost no inside part. This way it doesn't get squashed but it's not so tasteful after a few days.
