Do you cook over the campfire or do you bring a propane cookstove with you? When I camped with my dad we always used propane although we always had a campfire. My husband and I cook soley by campfire and we love it.

About the only time I don't cook over a fire is when I'm away from camp for the day, fishing, or whatever. Then I take something with me for lunch that's either already cooked, or doesn't need to be.
I love to cook over a camp fire. It always tastes so good to have that wood smoke flavor it. We go to a local pumpkin festival in the fall of the year and they cook pumpkin butter and apple butter over an open fire. Although we make apple butter at home, it never tastes like what I buy there that's been cooked over the open fire. Much better over the fire.
