Default Cast Iron Cookware

Does anyone use cast iron cookware when they go camping to cook with? I bring one or two with me because I love how they cook things plus they are heavy duty and I don't worry about them being damaged.

Heck yea! I can admit. I have a problem. My Cast Iron collection is growing fast and I need (want) more. I want to cook everything in it even though I consider myself just a beginner. There is nothing that I won't try. As for camping I truck camp now, so I don't have to carry the Iron too far.

I love cast iron cookware. I've even use it a home now. Properly cured, it is non stick, it cooks evenly, it cleans evenly and it is durable. The one problem I have is that my dutch oven is so heavy when it's full of chilly, I need someone to carry it for me.

I love my Dutch Ovens, Never leave home without. You can do more things in a DO than you can with anything else.

Eat like a King, no more hot dogs for me.

I've been a Dutch Oven cook for over 15 years now, my father showed me the way.

I made Cabbage Casserole today in the back yard. I wrote the recipe down, just need to type it up.

I love cast iron, as long as I do not have to hike it too far. I use it at home almost exclusively.
