Default Cooking on paper

Has anyone tried this cooking method on the camp? I saw a fellow camper who did this kind of technique (I don't know him and he's on a campsite not far from us). I just saw him putting some bass fillet in a paper and placed it on the hot coals.

I've heard about it, but I've never seen it done. Usually it's aluminum foil. It helps keeps the meat tender and juicy and keeps more of the flavor in.

I have done it with aluminum foil many times and it does help keep the meat more tender in my opinion. Can also help keep things from getting messy on the grill.

No I haven't, but I have watched how it's done on television. The paper won't burn if you keep it wet before placing on the hot coals. I only don't know what kind of paper should be used for cooking food.

I'd be afraid to try it with my dinner on the line. I'd be starved before I ever got anything like that cooked. I love packet cooking using aluminum foil though. We do potato packets. Place butter, sliced potatoes, sliced onions, salt and pepper and lay another piece of aluminum foil on top of the first sealing all edges to keep juices in. Place on the side of the fire so it will gently cook. Check after about 15 minutes and either serve or cook a bit more. These are really good.
