Default Does anyone know how to cook acorn squash over and open campfire?

Tips or tricks please, if you have them. Taking a fall camping trip and thought about taking some acorn squash along, which I have an abundance of this year.

Can you wrap them in foil and cook them like a potato?

I would cut them in half and scoop out the guts first but yes, you can wrap them in foil and place right in the coals just like potatoes. It would likely take a bit longer to cook but that should work well.
