I'm usually backpacking, so I generally carry dehydrated food. At other times though, I like to cut some meat and vegetables into bite sized pieces and put it on a sheet of aluminum foil. I season it, put a tablespoon or so of butter on top, seal it well in the foil, then wrap it in another piece. I like to make up a few with different kinds of meat and vegetables and keep them in the cooler. I cook them in coals for about twenty minutes, cut through the top and eat them right out of the foil. No prep time at the campsite, they pretty much cook themselves and no dishes.
