| I freeze meat before I take it camping. It's usually thawed out perfectly come that first dinner time. I almost always take two cornish game hens (frozen), and have never had a problem cooking them.
I have never, however, frozen anything non-meat to take camping. Don't see much a point in it, as bacteria isn't a factor for most foods when we're talking about a couple of days in a cooler with ice. I might consider freezing some pre-cut fresh fruit. Might be a yummy cooling snack.
