Gas stove

Do you always use firewood and cook in an open fire when you go camping or do you also bring a portable gas stove with you to make cooking easier?

We use both, a campfire and a charcoal grill and we use the propane grill too. It just depends on what we are cooking and how much time we have to make it.

We use the campfire because we don't have a gas stove. Using a campfire can be tricky sometimes but I manage to work with it.

if you carry a small grill grate cooking on the fire can be easy enough, but you do not have the precise temperature control many stoves have. I would not want to touch a boiling pot of water on a fire because the heat from the fire is everywhere. with a stove the heat is directed straight towards the bottom of the pan right where you want it.
