Default Have you ever got burned by your campfire?

I was roasting marshmellows one time and I laid my stick down. Well when I went to pick it back up I grabbed the wrong end!! Ouch that hurt so bad. I had to keep ice on it for so long. Every time I took the ice off my hand it would hurt so bad. I didn`t end up with a scar but I am more careful now when I pick my stick back up.lol Anyone ever do that? I felt so stupid.

I've sat too close and had the wind suddenly blow the embers and flames in my direction. Actually ruined a good shirt, come to think of it. I'm more cautious now - but sometimes I can't seem to help it on cold nights!

I've gotten many sparks on me from the campfire but never actually burned from the fire. Ouch- glad you are ok. You have to be more careful.

We are really careful around the campfire. You can never be too careful around any fire.

Yes, I have. I actually fell into the fire one day by accident. I was walking by the fire and actually stepped on a rock and stumbled and fell into the fire. Thankfully, I didn't get burned badly but I always watch for rocks now and clear my campground.

When I was a kid one of my brothers camped out back and they had a fire with a brick ring. Well, the next morning they burried the bricks. The problem was that they had the fire pit in the area I used to dig and play. Well, when I was digging I hit some bricks, when I went to move them I burnt my fingers. I had some good blisters from that one.

Default Haven't been burnt but I inhale a lot of smoke

I haven't ever been burnt myself but I watch very carefully when my child is around the campfire.

The 5 year old son of a good friend wound up with third degree burns on the bottom of his foot. He ran out of the tent when he was supposed to be sleeping and didn't stop in time. So, I'm always on the alert when kids are around and I take precautions with myself.

However; no matter how hard I try to move around the campfire and avoid it, when I'm cooking, I always seem to inhale too much smoke.

Still, an open fire is worth it to me.

I had a drop of gooey hot marshmallow fall on my hand one time when we were camping. It hurt so bad I was lucky and no scarring but it burned for the rest of the night.

I started to grab a cast iron skillet handle once when I was cooking some eggs one morning. I let go quickly but I still got burned and it was very painful for quite a while. I make sure there are hot pads around now to grab things if they get too done or if they flare up.

I've been pretty lucky and never burned myself (that I can think of right now...lol). I have seen some people get burned though and it's never fun. I've burned myself plenty of times on my house oven though...

I haven't been burnt by the campfire because I'm always cautious about fire. It's a scary thought to see people getting burnt from it so I have to be careful around the fire when camping with my family.
