I am not sure how we got the name for these but we have been making them since I was a kid. We take either chicken or beef chunks, carrots, onion, potatoes, herbs, and butter wrap it all together in aluminum foil and throw it on the fire. It is so tasty! Lately we have started a new combination with salmon, zucchini, summer squash and Italian dressing.

Foxy, those sound fabulous, I will have to give it a try next time I am out by the campfire. I am not so sure about the salmon but then again i am not big on fish.

Does it really tastes good? How long does it have to be cooked on fire? Do you also add salt and pepper over it? I have to give it a try as well, l'm a fan of eating fish especially salmon.

Yum.... It sounds awesome! We do something similar except we toss them all in a big aluminum pan on the campfire grate. It's delicious! You can't help but pick at all the goodies.

Sounds pretty good to me. In fact we may give it a try here at home on the grill tonight. We'll probably try the chicken one though I am not a big fan of fish.

Smells good to me. I think I would like the first recipe better though. It sounds like something that started back in the Great Depression when so many people were down on their luck, and used something like that for traveling food.

I love making those. They're so good. To keep it all moist, you can also add an ice cube or a little water.

The only seasonings we really put on the fish is Old Bay Seasoning. I don't put anything on the chicken but you could if you wanted too. I have never had trouble keeping it moist though! We do them on the grill at home a lot too.
