Default Rattlesnake

Has anyone ever tried rattlesnake? I haven't had it myself - not sure if I could stomach it. But I've heard the best ways to cook it is with butter and garlic or deep fried with a cornmeal batter. I just don't think I could do it unless I had to.

Yuck. lol I have never had it and it's something I honestly don't think I would ever eat it. But then I never thought I'd try things like octupus but I did!

I have not, yet. I want to. My father has tried snake, not sure what type. There is a place about an hour north of St. Augustine I wanted to go to when I was there to get married. They have food like that, along with some other strange stuff. I think it would be great to try.

I don't even like calamari. I thought it was a small onion ring when I picked it up off of the buffet! I bit into it and it was AWFUL! I don't think I could do snake of any type. I would rather eat grass if I was starving. Heck, I would rather eat bugs than snake! UGH!

I think I would rather eat a rattle snake than calamari too ... that stuff is nasty! I took one bight, spit it out, and have never touched it again.

Snake is up there on my list of fun foods to try. I have read that they are very good to eat and have lots of meat on them - snakes in general I mean. We have rattlers in the Okanagan area here in BC and though I have seen many, I have never really messed with them too much beyond poking at them with a long stick as a kid lol.

You've got some courage go to poking rattlesnakes with a stick, northernbushape, lol.

Calamari I like when it's cooked right, but snakes in general just creep me out so I don't think I could do it.

Jason - let us know if you get to try it anytime soon.

I think it was more youthful idiocy than courage Grady

They have it at Jungle Jims but it is very expensive. I think one package was like 100 USD and another package that was smaller was 50 USD. I can't justify spending that and I hope to never have to kill one so I doubt I will try it.

I am so terrified of snakes I would probably be worried that I would take a bite and the thing would come to life. I don't like them alive or dead so, no, I would never be able to eat rattlesnake. Aaaahh - just thinking about it is giving me the heebie jeebies!

Snakes...yikes! I'm so scared of them I don't even think I could eat one if my life depended on it. The sight of them puts me in a state of utter panic.
