Pizza sandwiches

I love making pizza sandwiches without pie irons. We use the grill at camp. Butter the bread and then fill them with sauce, cheese and toppings. They are fast and easy to make.

We make them with pie irons. I have never tried putting them directly on the grill, it sounds delicious, I might have to try it.

We also put them on the grill on the griddle pan though. This way it's just like a frying pan. I also tried to make them with a pie iron. It does not always work though, sometimes they burn!

I'm going to have to try that. I don't think I've even heard of it until now. Kind of like a homemade Italian meal out in the wilderness. Interesting.

I'm a huge fan of pizza and so are the kids so it is a must-have every camping trip we take. Heck we even make the pie iron pizzas out back on the campfire.
