I've never had a pop up as I've always justed camped in a tent. If I were to get one though, I wouldn't want to spend too much money. My question is, what would be a good price for a basic, used low-end popup camper?

It depends on when you buy it. I know a lot of people put them up for sale right after camping season is over. I bet you could find a deal then. We paid $1000 for ours and then we sold it. Not sure what we are buying next.
Take a craigslist search... great deals to be had there!
We have seen several good deals on craigslist. Due to towing capacity we'll probably just get a tent instead but the craigslist deals are tempting if you keep your eyes open!
