Default How Much Do You Take?

When we go camping, unless it's nearby, we wait to get groceries at the nearest grocery to the place we are going to camp. I know it's not much weight but I feel much better if I get the stuff closer to my camp spot.

We take tons of groceries with us. My feeling is once I'm there I want to stay there and not run to the store for groceries. We take a lot of coolers full of ice and we have the fridges in the campers too.

Because I pack so much stuff I usually go before we go camping and then just pack it all up to bring with us. I usually don't want any long stops when we are driving, I am ready to get there!

Oh gosh, if I'm going somewhere, I certainly don't want to stop and shop! I can't stand going to the store 15 times just to go again when I get there. I hate it! If I can get out of it altogether, I will.

I definitely go shopping before we pack. Once we get to our camping site, I want the fun to begin. Also, if we are camping for a longer time, I want the meat for the latter end of our trip to be frozen solid before we leave so it will stay fresh longer.

I always pre-pack everything before we leave. I don't ever recall stopping to get anything other than ice on the day we head out. I hate shopping myself and usually my wife picks up the stuff for me.

We pack the food before we go too. When we start up to hit the road, we don't want anything getting in the way between us and the campsite.

I usually have some things already prepared or mixed and ready to put on the fire when I get there. I even patty out my burgers before I freeze them to have them ready to put on the fire. The frozen things help out quite a bit to keep things cool along with the ice.

Never have taken "groceries" in the backcountry with me. MRE's and energy-bars - standard pack.
