Default New idea to get rid of motor home

Some of you know that my son has a motor home. It won't pass inspection so we came up with a plan to get rid of it. The only problem is we don't know if it is legal.

What if we print up some raffel tickets and sell them for $5 each. The winner gets the motor home. If he can sell 100 tickets that means he has made $500 on the sale of the motor home. What do you think?

That one I do not know about. I would try contacting an accountant about that. But I do have one idea. What about donating it? Often times you can write off the amount on your taxes.

If you do the raffle idea, you should be sure to be upfront about it being a vehicle that won't pass inspection --- keep a possible lawsuit off your hands.

Also, if you do the raffle idea ... don't just make it community-based. Sign up for a PayPal account, put the "Pay here" link on like a free Web site (like blogger, or something), and then advertise it on craigslist.com and other sites like it. Just make sure to tell people that if they're the winner, they are responsible for picking up the camper. It's the same way when someone buys a car of eBay and whatnot.

Well the camper has been outfront for a week for sale. It was also on ebay, but he took it off because of the $120 fee if it sells. He did get bids on it from ebay too, so I think he is going to relist it only locally.
Many people have came and looked....hopefully it will sell without the raffel idea.

Keep us up to date ... I'm curious now.

I hope everything works out, I think having an RV at your son's age so he can hang out with his friends in it is pretty cool. It's better than hanging out in the basement all day like those kids on That '70s Show, haha!
