You want to try your best not to attract them. When I was younger one of my siblings left and open jar of peanut butter on the picnic table and some other things. This attracted a bear.
I think you are supposed to puff up as big as you can and make a lot of noise. They say you are not supposed to run. Of course I am sure that my first reaction would be to run.
I wouldn't want to attract it's attention,that's for sure. I honestly don't know what I'd do. From what I hear, bears will do what they want regardless of what you do.
