What do you always have with you?

What do you always have with you if you know you are going to be in the wilderness? We always have a compass, water tablets, waterproof matches, survival whistle, flint, Ruger 9mm with an extra clip, leatherman, some snack bars, a couple of MRE's, a first aid kit, and a survival blanket.

I always have:

my pocket knife
p38 can opener
my water bottle (filled before leaving the house)
lighter
magnesium fire starter
safety pins
a couple adhesive bandages
LED flashlight

That's all stuff that I have with me all the time. The bulk of it is in my pockets at any given moment.

When I know I'm going into the woods, I add:

first aid kit
another flashlight
some extra batteries
Swiss army knife
emergency whistle
2 heavy duty plastic trash bags
sun block
bug spray
travel tooth brush with tooth paste
a bundle of strike anywhere matches
a small bag of lint
compass

Soon, I'll be adding:

emergency rain poncho
emergency blanket
water purification tablets
