I'm about to buy a camping cot for our next summer camping trip. I was wondering if you guys use camping cot on the trip with the absence of foam pad or airbed. What kind of cot brand do you think should be the best to recommend?

I stopped using a cot when I discovered the sleeping pads. They're lighter and (in my opinion) more comfortable. A lot of people are getting away from cots because of their bulk, weight and setup time. You can still get a good one from cabellas.com but for the same price you can get a Thermarest pad
If you're camping from your vehicle and really like cots, get one. The one in the link is similar to my old one and is great. If you're backpacking or looking to pack light, get the pad.
I have the Tent Cot that I take when I go alone and is very comfy with a thin mat. When I take the tent I also take the air mattress and sleep great on them
I use sleeping pads, but I'd like to have a portable hammock like this to put my sleeping pad on http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110423843016. It would also be comfy without the sleeping pad during the day.
Another vote for air matresses. I don't tent camp when it's below about 35. I put an extra blanket or sleeping bag under my bag if it's going to be cold. My Coleman twin rolls up to much less space than a cot.
