Default Camping tonight in tents

I have not slept in a tent in a long time. Tonight we are roughing it without air mattresses too. Wow right? We are going to a friends picnic and party and have decided to stay the night. There will be a lot of campers there too.

If you haven't slept on the ground for awhile, you are roughing it huh? I hope you get a good nights sleep, keep us posted on how it all went. I don't know if my back could take much of that anymore.

Sounds like its going to be a good time! Will your tent be on grass?

Sleeping on the ground like that without an air mattress will mean you will be feeling it in the morning. I suggest you find a soft, grassy patch to set up on. Everyone needs to rough it every once in a while, keeps us grateful.

I'll admit it - I'm a pansy I don't mind the tent camping thing, but I have to have my air mattress. My back just can't handle it any other way. I hope you're enjoying yourself and that you sleep well!

You know the only reason I stopped tent camping is the uncomfortable sleeping.... to cold in winter and to hot in summer (to nap)

Other then that I wouldn't mind one of the big cabin style tents like Coleman has....... I figure with the pop up/ tent trailer we have its the next step up from tent camping... still has soft walls and uncomfortable sleeping! hahahah

I don't mind sleeping on the ground at all, but I can sleep almost anywhere and be fine. I do usually take an air mattress with me though.

I was watching the news and people are sleeping out in tents tonight in Hurricane Earl, they are braver than I. I just feel safer inside my house.

I was out camping last night without an air mattress. I piled some soft underbrush beneath where I was going to pitch my tend, put down a sleeping pad, and found it to be very comfortable. Never underestimate the padding properties of leaves and pine needles.
