Default Need a family size tent

I would like to take my entire family camping in the fall, which we've never done. My oldest daughter and I have gone and the tent we have would not be big enough for my wife and 3yr. old too. Do you have any recommendations for a good quality tent for a family of 4?

We use a Coleman tent that sleeps 8 people. It is one big tent with dividers to make it into a three room tent. We usually just leave the dividers down, the middle section can fit a queen air mattress and each end room can fit a twin air mattress. It's a really nice tent and VERY simple to set up. I tried looking on the Coleman website for the tent but they don't manufacture it anymore. I would recommend any 6+ person tent for a family outing.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think I'm going to go with the Montana 8 tent by Coleman. The reviews on it look good and it can fit 2 queen air mattresses in it!

Yeah, I would definitely get one whose capacity is supposed to be a few more than the number of people because you will have gear plus people!

I really like the divider tents that only have one door. That way you can sleep by the door and not worry that a little one is going to try to get out and wonder around (if you have an explorer).

I have never had any problems with the Coleman tents. I usually double the people capacity. IE 2 man tent sleeps 1 with gear, 4 man tent sleeps 2 with gear. So a 6-8 person tent should work well for you. I also don't find as much room in a rounded shape footprint tent. So I look for a rectangle shape.
