| Tent size My boyfriend and I have a pretty decent size tent. It is big enough to fit our bags, coolers and a queen size air mattress. We can also stand up in it. Recently we met this other couple at a campground and they had a tent the size of a small house. It had 2 rooms, 2 closets, and a screened in porch. They had a queen size Aerobed in there and still had a room for 2 or 3 more! Do you think this is a little extravagant for 'roughing it'? What size do you prefer when tenting.

| Just big enough for us and gear is good enough for me. Too big = too much time setting up and tear down. Those tents are also heavy. Plus finding a spot to put that big tent. But use whatever makes YOU happy. Some of my best times were sleeping under the stars with a log for a pillow, and other times sleeping in an air-conditioned trailer. I love MY tent.

| If it wasn't for my wife, I wouldn't even use a tent. I prefer all the way outdoors right by the fire. When there aren't any burn restrictions of course.

| I like as much room in a tent as I can manage. I love to stand up in a tent too as changing and just functioning is much easier. I have a couple tents. One for Jeep camping and one for backpacking. I hate the backpacking tent as it's too small for me to be really comfortable in, but the bonus is the light weight. My Jeepin' tent is 10'x10' and around 12-15 pounds, so no way I'm lugging that thing backpacking.
But, whatever floats yer boat. I know a guy with a condominium tent too and he swears by it.

| We have numerous tents. I like the 3 room one the best. The kids can have 1 part and we can have 1 part and then the suitcases and food go in the 3rd.

| I am good with enough room for us and our gear as well! I can't imagine having to put up and tear down or lug that thing around. We wouldn't even have room for it in the truck! We are packed top to bottom as it is.

| Here's my tent. This is my 4 season tent for solo trips.
I have something a little more upscale when I camp with my girlfriend.

| The smaller the tent the better. The big tents usually don't do soo well in high winds.

| I went camping the first weekend in August and a fella had a one person tent, it was big enough to sleep in and that was it, he said he took it on his mountain bike and it only weighed 5 lbs.

| I find it amusing that they say tents will fit 4-5 people, I can barely get 2 of us into it. It's crazy. My rule of thumb is if it say's 4-5 it is good for 1-2 so 8-9 would be good for 4-5 or that's how it seems to me.
