Unhappy Earthquake

I've been in a small cave at the foot of a mountain before, and while inside, I thought, what if an earthquake comes while we are here? What shall we do?

Well, if your in a cave, I would assume that someone knows where you are... On top of that, if I were to go caving I would invest in a O2 sensor. I've done a lot of confined spaces rescue and mine rescue and having an oxygen sensor is LITERALLY a lifesaver. I don't know how much they run, but I did it a lot I would invest in one.

Good advice, Bradsalex. Really and truly, depending on the kind of cave you are in, there's no way to tell what the safest course of action would be if you're not near the entrance and can get out. It may be a sturdy cave that has withstood earthquakes for eons, or...it might not be. Perhaps someone else is more knowledgable on the safest thing to do...because all I would do is find a shelf and curl up under it!

That's ANOTHER reason I don't go caving. Besides the fact I'm claustrophobic, then there are all of the issues with no oxygen, no light, no space. All in all I just don't think I want to go in a cave. I'm a big chicken.

If you really wanted to explore a cave then better have thorough research on it. If you can afford a guide then better bring one because that person can really help when emergencies happen like earthquakes.

I really have NO idea, I don't go into caves at all. I wouldn't have thought about them collapsing on me, but now I will. I would run if they started to collapse, I'm sure that is not the right thing to do!
