How much time do you spend maintaining your boat?

I have a friend who had a 50 foot catamaran. He ended up selling it because he said he was tired of all the maintaining he needed to do on a daily basis just to keep it looking decent.

I helped him out a few times and it seemed like it took the whole morning just to clean the deck and the rails. I couldn't imagine having to do that everyday or every other day.

I don't spend too much time on mine. It is a 40 year old fiberglass boat that still floats. It is too far gone to make like new finish, but I don't worry about the small scratches and stuff. Just enjoy it. But I do wash it down after every use.

I wish I had a boat of my own to have to maintain. Maybe I will be able to get one one of these days.
