I think cave diving would be a neat experience but I don't do real well in enclosed spaces. This would probably bring on a panic attack for me.

I have a friend that cave dives at least once a summer. She and her husband started scuba diving first and then ventured on to this. She says that it is a very peaceful experience.

I have to admit that I am afraid of caves and the very thought of cave diving scares me so much, but I am sure it must be a fascinating hobby for those who are brave enough to do it.

I love to see pictures and TV shows about caves, but I couldn't do it myself I would be too scared.

I wonder if the types of caves and caverns that Opie was describing exist in Western North Carolina. Those mountains were filled with "bottomless pits" that people were always going into and exploring. Most of them were filled with water and ledges.
