We are planning a beach trip and my 10 year old nephew has expressed an interest in scuba diving. Is there an age requirement before you can go? Do they have kid sized equipment?

That would make sense to me I think you would at least have to be a certain height or weight (big enough for the equipment) even if you don't have to be a certain age.
I think the age is not the only thing to consider here but also the size of the body. There are kids who are thin and they might not carry the tanks on their backs.
There are scuba gears for children because I've seen some discovery shows where the children have these little tanks on their backs.
Depending on where you get your certification at, the minimum age is 10 or 12 years of age. You must meet certain health requirement, be able to swim at least 200 yards and tread water for 10 minutes.
