10 MP is plenty. To be honest, anything over 6MP you're not going to be able to notice. Unless you routinely print out poster-size pictures (32x24 inches or so) your camera is going to be perfect for you. If you only view your pictures on the computer (like many people do these days) then you re-size them down to about 1MP anyway.
