Default PFD's

What type of PFD's does everyone use? Is it just the basic orange vest, or do you have something more comfortable. I've recently been looking at the ones that look like fishing jackets, and even have the pockets in the front.

I've got one made for water-skiing, actually. It's a front zip, and made from neoprene. I liked that one because it was made to allow for maximum movement.

I have, however, recently seen some of the ones you are talking about. And the pockets to interest me. I'd like to try them on first, however. I want to make sure they're as comfortable as the one I've got already.

I use the type III. It is comfortable and I don't go too far out from shore. Mostly lakes rivers and inshore. Be sure to get one for the type of activity, type of water that best suits you. And try many on to find the one for you.
