Do you set a certain amount of money aside in your budget for camping? I find when we do go camping, we spend a fortune. Between paying the fee to stay at the campground, the groceries, the extra snacks and drink, it seems like we are spending a fortune.

You know I totally agree. I spend more for camping food than I do for a weeks worth of groceries. We always go with other families and we always bring home a ton of food. We don't budget for camping, I just buy it and bring home the leftovers.

I do budget for camping. We take about $1000 and put it aside every year just for our camping. This way we can actually call it a vacation and we aren't scraping to get by.

I never thought about it as budgeting, but we have a relative idea how much we'll need for a trip. We usually go for 2-4 days and it's just our family, so with the shorter trips, it's easy to keep the food costs manageable.
