Default Homeless In Wilderness Camping Area

I just found out that a lot of homeless people have set up in a primitive camping area at a local federal lake site. I feel so sorry for these people. With the weather lately it's been really rough and our local homeless shelter only has room for a dozen. Homelessness has risen so much lately that I wonder if everyone is going to be out of luck before too long.

At least there is a homeless shelter where you are; there's none here where I am and no programs to help them out, either. I feel for average people who become homeless because of the economic situation, but for those who just mentally aren't all there, the world must be a scary place.

The economy has made it really challenging and difficult for a lot of people. About a month ago, there was a news segment on a family that was doing this. It broke my heart.

That is so sad! I hear here in NY Governor Patterson is going to try to close down the state parks (budget cuts). I'm sure some homeless people stay in these parks too.
I wish there was more homeless shelters.

Close them down and loose all of those summer jobs. Print up more money to stimulate the economy and keep our parks open.

I guess homeless people have no choice but to rely on the camping area near the lake. How I wish that more shelter homes should be built and food should be provided for them.

you should see tent city near Providence. Lawyers, accountants, clerks, bank tellers, hundreds of people all living in a big tent community because they lost their jobs and can't find work.
