I usually bring my crochet hook and some threads when we go out camping, so that I have something else to do when there is spare time.

I can say that I don't do this but it's a good idea. Why not right? I take books with me when I go camping. I tend to read at night by the campfire when the kids are settled in.

That's a great idea Paloma I am just learning how to crochet and out by the campfire would be a nice quiet place to work on it.

I'm going to ask my grandmother to borrow her crochet hook and some colorful threads to keep me occupied while camping. This must be fun for a crocheting beginner like me.

I am a beginning crocheter as well so for you other beginners I thought I'd let you know that there are some AWESOME youtube videos . Look up crocheting and then click on the ones that say back to basics. It is step by step from pulling the first piece of yarn out until completion.
