Fly rod tip

I'm new to fishing. We're about to fish in the lake just nearby our place and I have no background knowledge about catching fish, especially handling a fly rod. Guess I just have to watch my uncle perform fishing using his fly rod and I'm planning to buy a rod of my own soon. What kind/brand of fly rod are you using?

Before you run off and buy your own rod, see if your uncle will coach you through the casting and retrieval methods to see if you like it.
