Default Snagging

Does anyone in here ever fish by doing what they call snagging where you cast out and snag the fish with your hook in the side or anywhere it may hang? I thought it was illegal here but recently found out you can do it year around. Does it really work?

I haven't tried that snagging technique. I've always used the bait and hook technique. Doesn't snagging hurt the fish when it snags and you don't get it?

In Missouri there is a fishing season to snag Spoonbill. This is a large fish that is a bottom feeder, does not typicaly bite bait, so to catch them you snag.Good fish when cleaned right!
