Thank you Northern Dancer. Wife's model collection.IMG_20230301_125744571_HDR~2.jpg

We just got back Lexington Kentucky and a side trip to Cincinnati Union Terminal Screenshot_20230325-044427-474.jpg They have dinosaurs and really old stuffIMG_20230323_100508472_HDR.jpg
It was a good relaxing trip.

On the way home I stopped and picked up a shifter cable for the boat. I should be able to finish putting it together today. Oh well it is a 30 year old boat. Like me it needs a little maintenance once in a while.

Whoa - that's some collection I'm looking at. Oh...I think I get it. When you are caught up with all your challenges and projects, your wife? She buys horses. Not just any horse but models that are truly artistic. Congrats to both of you.

Thanks Cappy. Yep red buds blooming mean crappie are biting. Unless your me[emoji19]. Took the boat out to see if I could coax any of the speckled fish to come home for dinner.IMG_20230410_132407_01.jpg it was a pretty dayIMG_20230410_115719420.jpgIMG_20230410_115716884_HDR.jpgIMG_20230410_115711687_HDR.jpg The lake hasn't been brought up to summer time pool yet, but it's not as low as normal.IMG_20230410_124125664_HDR.jpgIMG_20230410_124139160.jpg Tried around this bridge first thing. Last time I was under here, these pigeons dropped a bomb on me! Yuck. Took my coffee making stuff, and when the fish weren't biting I made coffee.IMG_20230410_115700261_HDR.jpg But the fish didn't cooperate. Migrating water fowl were interesting. They stayed with in a foot of two above the water and followed the river channel.IMG_20230410_125938104.jpgIMG_20230410_130005814.jpg

Better luck next time.

Been crazy here, between work, sick kids and everything else. Doing my best to get some fishing and hiking in. Usually try and get some hiking in at lunch if I can. Gotta loose some of that weight somehow. Almost had a day off to mess around and go the range, instead we got some pigs, so had to rush and get a pen and shelter for them. First time doing pigs so we will see how that goes.

Hello, I used to access this site thru the Tapatalk app, but I'm not able to now?? Oh well.

We had a good hike last week end, or was it week end before? Don't remember.IMG_20230409_140618084.jpgThe early spring flowers were great. IMG_20230409_151129251_HDR.jpgThe trees weren't leafed out yet, so seeing into the woods was easier.IMG_20230409_143324678_HDR.jpgIMG_20230409_140618084.jpgIMG_20230409_151129251_HDR.jpgIMG_20230409_143324678_HDR.jpgIMG_20230409_143324678_HDR.jpg

I have purchased canoe plans for a wood strip solo canoe. The Raven canoe designed by John Winters and sold by Greenvalley Boat Works, this will be my new outdoor project. I figure it'll be a Christmas present to myself because that's probably when I will have it done.IMG_20230424_194638988.jpg I've been cutting my wood strips and tracing the prints onto poster board.IMG_20230424_194638988.jpgIMG_20230516_175841562.jpg

Here I went and started another canoe, and I never finished my last canoe project that I started last year. My canoe seat backsIMG_20230518_155703794_HDR.jpg
I need to get it out and wash the dust off of it.

Like reading a good book...you pick up another one and start reading it too, then there are a few more. Each marked on the last page, is scattered here and there like Christmas parcels waiting for your return.

Ya, I tend to be more than a one-project kind of person. And yes, there are projects started and not finished. But, I know where they are, and when the spirit moves me I'm back at it. It's fun, and it's good, and a great way to spend leisure time.

...and with each new project, I become better.

Got a call this morning, my new windows are ready for pickup. Last major renovation on the house I hope. I dred putting them in. Maybe I'll be done by July.

I've been working on a new seat for either my new canoe build, that have barely started, or for my Mohawk solo13. I built a steam box and purchased a steam generator. I've never bent wood before, so fun fun. VID_20230523_160446726_exported_7488.jpg
Sure smells good steaming walnut and cherry.IMG_20230524_161647856_HDR.jpg
Clamped them to my make shift form right after steaming.IMG_20230523_192147983.jpgIMG_20230523_195107480_HDR.jpg
Shmear the glue on each strip, after drying on the form. And then camping them back together on the form with about 20 clamps.IMG_20230524_161634429_HDR.jpg
Got one and working on the other.
They'll look pretty when they get cleaned up.

Has been a rainy week. Replaced one window and put a new one in. IMG_20230604_082517822_HDR.jpg
IMG_20230611_172051262_HDR.jpg
Got the siding back on and getting ready for painting. Interior moldings and stuff done. Got a bigger window to replace a small one on the other side of the roomIMG_20230604_082151518_HDR.jpg
I'll be glad to get this window out and another big one in, and get it all done. Interrupting my out door adventures.

Anyhow that's what I've been up to. My normal bill paying job and house improvements.

The rain has stopped this afternoon IMG_20230623_195720513_HDR.jpg
It sure is green and lush out.

Y'all take care and hope everyone is well.

Sorry for not posting for a while. Been pretty busy. Got some exploring done at work of some interesting sites. Been finding a lot of old bottles, possible prohibition era as they say things like Federal Law Forbids Sale. Been working out a lot too trying to get healthy. Also ended up having to rebuild our chicken run a lot earlier then I planned.

We love finding stuff like that. We would comb the islands on the local lakes for old bottles and pottery. I found out, fairly recently, that a person is not allowed to remove anything from these lakes islands or shore line. TVA federal property. Oh well we do have a few cool things we found. My patio stone belongs to TVA also. It's cool cause it has fossils in it.

I got the 2 windows in on one wall. Taking the siding off another wall fixen to put a, much larger, window in. It's going to be twice the width as this one that it's replacing.IMG_20230628_191349860_HDR.jpg
Oh you can also see my government patio stone in that picture also, wasn't me, it was here when we moved here ha.
Next time my wife asks if I can put a larger window in, I need to keep my big mouth shut. Tell her " naw we can't do that, the wall is to small. The roof line might fall down". I should've wised up by now. Aw no. I just stick my big ole foot in it, puff out my chest and say stupid things like, " Yep I can build you anything". "Old Roy can do windows". Uh huh me and my big mouth.
