So I found this little post on instructables and decided to make my own.
It charges the AA batteries in about 8 hours of sunlight. Once charged, I can slip the charger in my pocket and use it to recharge a phone or other mobile device later in the day. Great battery backup for backpacking in case I need to use my phone for an emergency. Also, it's a decent AA battery charger I can use in case the power goes out. I can use the batteries for weather radios, flashlights, LED lanterns, etc.
Total cost for materials was about $18 before shipping.
