According to Raw Story, BBC documented over 900 hours of activity between the puffer fish and dolphins. It was found that the intelligence of the dolphins let them them how much of the puffer fish toxin could safely intoxicate them. One puffer fish was shared by several dolphins, with the toxin released in smaller doses to cause narcotic effects. Large doses that were released could be deadly -- in people or dolphins.

My wife and I just watched this on PBS last evening. Interesting, I see this for the first time three years after you posted about it. I thought the part about them ingesting small amounts of the puffers neurotoxins to get high on was bizarre!

Hmmmmm when I was young me and my friends passed around stuff to get high so was the deal?? Aint dolphins posed to be smart. It stands to reason that they would figure out how to cop a buzz we did,:beer3:
