I do ride bareback sometimes, but not on the roads. Sometimes I use a numnah (saddle pad) because horse hair is prickly if it gets into your jodhpurs. I have always enjoyed riding bareback since I was a child, you feel more connection with the horse.

In UK there is no need to buy branded ones our supermarkets do their own brand ones and they are excellent. I use the Tesco ones and they are very strong and reliable.
