    Shelter Material?

I would rarely build shelter from scratch but if you needed to what wood would you choose for constructing its base? Also, what material would you choose for flooring and roofing, so to speak.

    Traps?

Do you make your own traps? I'm not talking just about trap setups that you can make from natural materials but hand-made tools for catching animals.

    Washing Dishes

Even biodegradable soap?! Is this really true? What is the point of biodegradable soap then if it hurts the environment. I had no idea about this.

    Washing Dishes

I have a friend who brings bacon on every trip and his dishes are a mess afterwards. He almost never washes them in the field. Some people can live with that but I don't think I could.

    Tool Kit?

Knife is the number one tool in my kit. If I don't have a knife I don't have anything else. I like larger knives so I don't bring axe every time. Multi-tool has its place in my kit, from time to time though.

    Privacy on Internet?

I have a small program that strips all metadata from images but I'm not using it on pics I send to my friends via email. Maybe I should start using it.

    Privacy on Internet?

Recently I sent a photo to a friend who warned me that my photo metadata contains exact GPS location where photo was taken, my name and similar data. My phone is apparently inserting those things in the JPEGs. Would you personally be concerned with exposing such private data?

    Campfire Chicken

You can't go wrong with chicken. I'm not the person who likes to experiment. When I'm in foreign country and not sure what to order I always ask for grilled chicken.

    Washing Dishes

I use organic soap for cleaning up but I usually eat food that is not greasy so my dishes are easily cleaned with water only. One benefit of eating healthy foods. :)

    Sun Screen?

Depends on your skin. If you burn easily than go ahead and apply it. I always do. I use high SPF just to be safe. Also use lip balm with high protection factor.

    Out There By Choice

Maybe one day we will all be forced to live like that, who knows. It's not bad to prepare yourself for that eventuality by practicing what we're talking about here.

    Kayaking and joint problems?

I'm not an experienced kayaker but I can tell you a few things about your joints. They get stronger with practice and even though it is contraintuitive to put them to work when they hurt, in moderation activity can help them heal and become strong again.

    Favorite show?

I like to watch all sorts of shows that are related to nature topics. I can't help it. It's not enough for me that I'm constantly outside but I need to watch shows about being outside. :)

    Happy Fathers Day

Happy father's day!! I spent a ton of money of presents a few days ago. I know my wife is not happy about it. What can I do, I love giving presents because I know it feels to get them. :)

    Hiking with Dogs

I like to hike with dogs but that is not for everyone. Some people don't have the habit and are annoyed by the fact that they have to think about the dog as well.

    Headlamp dispute

Fenix doesn't have a huge array of headlamps and I presume it's because they don't specialize in them. While I haven't used Apex lamps I can tell you that Fenix lamps are OK but bulky in my opinion.

    Endurance Supplements?

Whatever you supplement with can help but it takes its toll on the body when it stops working. Then you need to take a pause and recharge your body with what it needs.

    Sleeping bag for summer ONLY

Summer bags are just that: light and therefore cheap. Don't go overboard with it. What I like to do is buy one that can be used for three seasons and then add a thick liner to it for the winter.

    Increase in survival interest

I was guilty of buying a few super expensive things, knives included. But to escape this popular consumer logic is very hard. You need to be objective all the time when choosing what to buy which is very hard with all the philosophies present online.
