    soup for the trip

Does anyone do batches of soup to freeze at home for a few days before you head out on a trip? I think as long as you have good containers to keep it in during the hike to the lot you would be okay with it, right?

    Navigational Markers?

I tend to keep a little notebook with me that fits in my pocket, its easy to jot down what you see near you and keep an idea on paper (that you can recycle when you get home). Besides that having a small digital camera handy helps too.

    Zombie Squad

As much as we love watching zombie anything in this house I have no clue what you are talking about here. It does sound interesting though so if anyone does know I would be interested in watching it if I can find it on Netflix or something like that.

    zombies on the mind

We have not watched any recent movies or shows with them so I have no idea where the thought came from. I woke this morning after having a dream that my dog (a tiny one) and another were in my living room fighting and the other dog was a zombie dog. I am thinking I should head out early this...

What is your take on used tires?

I have never used any for autos before but a popup might be okay if they are actually in good condition. A local place near us got busted for selling off old tires at insane prices all of which once the investigation was over were faulty.

    Wild Boars

I am pretty sure if I saw one you would see the fastest tree climber in the world. Wild animals tend to freak me out a little and the oinkers are just a little to mean looking for my liking.

    Hiking and Meteorites

I used to collect rocks as a kid, yes its almost the only thing we had back in that day. I would love to do this and I keep an eye out but I have yet to find anything interesting enough to bring back home for our rock garden.

    Experience?

Personally I would rather learn from an instructor and its not to put your friend down, I have been that way with everything. The same thing happened when my folks wanted to teach me to drive and I told them no.

    Found An Antique

I have the same issue, neither of us like the idea of hoarding anything so if we can not use it the idea is quickly tossed out of our head. I do like the idea of antiques but I hate the thought of dusting more stuff too.

    Staying Hydrated

We ran out once and it was not a fun hike back to the car to get the extras that we left behind. The only thing worse than running out for good is then having to hike back while drenched in your own sweat because your silly head is all "Oh we don't need all that"...never again!

    city smog or fresh air

I think that is the main reason I love being outdoors so much either camping or hikigk is the fresh air. Living in the city has some perks do not get me wrong but everything is so much nicer when you are out in the woods. The people, the air, the scenery. I almost want our next house to be a...

Up sick with my 4 year old son.

Was it on a 13" TV too like mine? Seriously the price of those are nuts lately! As to the kid, you are just going to need to fight the battle with some patience and serious calm nerves. We had that about two weeks back and I feel like I am still trying to catch up on my own lost sleep!

Woman shot by cop..."mistakes" her for deer.

That is horrible to think about. We walk our dogs at night all of the time but what fool hunts that late in the day around places he knows that people may frequent? Even better he is a cop, he should totally know better.

cook in the woods yes, cook at home fail

What are the odds that I can not cook a lick in the kitchen but I am pretty good with a grill or around the campfire? My husband swears its because I like the danger of it. Are others like this, cook good in the woods but at home everything fails? You should have seen the bad dinner we had last...

    The Weather Man

The only time I like the snow is when I have planned days off work (or they cancel it) and we have plenty of ways to stay warm when the power goes out. Now if its random snow that messes up my day, I am not down for the fluffy stuff.

    Bringing your pet

I totally agree! While we never bring our cats we do bring the dogs and everyone in the family helps out. We even do this when we go to local parks downtown and I have caught a few people who ended up not picking up after their pets and I have no issues calling them on it either. ;)

    Ireland

I have heard that if you plan a vacation out there to go ahead and find a place close for some trails too, its a good idea. We both have Irish in us so it is one place on the list of many to pick from. Has anyone gone that could recommend both an area for hiking and for other stuff (like family...

    Dutch oven cooking.

I think that might be the only way, I have tried a few times and failed miserably. Now my better half seems to have the knack for it so we decided he can do all of the cooking and I will do all of the prep work.

    Cabwaylingo State Forest

I know its in WV and its one that we are looking at for next year, maybe head out in spring to see what the place has to offer. I know there are a few other places in WV that seem larger but we do not need a big park to have a good time, right? Anyone been there?

    Drug store wrap

I think its just another word for aluminum foil if I am not mistaken, possibily like backwords lingo. I really do not see how it would be called "drug store wrap", now "wrap" alone I could maybe understand. Who gets their aluminum foil at CVS or Walgreens?
