How fun! Unfortunately I have a preschooler at home that will be with me most of the time. It will be his last year with me and I hyperventilate when I think about it. I have a middle schooler this year too. :(

Hmmmm.... That's disturbing and hilarious at the same time! And I bet it does not work. lol I guess everyone has strange ideas and this just happens to be one that is really, really odd.

Moonshine! In my area there are tons of people who make moonshine and sell it secretly. I guess they have to make it somewhere but never thought about where that might be. lol

I would check craigslist and the local trading post kind of papers. I would look for something with a trolling motor and nice cushy seats. Those are a must for my family!

A friend of mine had a baby about 2 weeks ago and she and her husband took him for his first boat ride on Saturday. The pictures of her husband holding him while steering the boat are so cute!

I don't always study up on the wildlife. But I have run into a few things that I was unsure about. Most of it has been insects. I've seen some bugs that were SOOOO weird and creepy and I have no idea what they were.

Um... YUCK! That's awful. I've never heard of ants going inside of a camera but it doesn't surprise me. It was probably the right temperature and dry enough to keep them safe.

When you go hiking do you always wear hiking boots or do you prefer to wear something else? I have hiked wearing a little bit of everything. I prefer sneakers with good traction.

It's almost back to school time around here. Have the schools in your area headed back already? Did you or do you have any big last minute outdoor extravaganzas planned to celebrate the end of summer?

See, that's the problem. In Virginia you never really know when it's going to be cold. Last Thanksgiving we were outside in short sleeve shirts for our pumpkin shoot. It's unpredictable!

I've been "crabbing" once. But it consisted of fishing for crabs off a dock with hot dogs as bait. lol It worked and we ate them (after buying some more at the local market) and they were delicious!

That's going to be a big tent! lol I have only bought ones that sleep up to 6 so I'm not much help. You may have to go to a camping store to find something like that since it might be a specialty item.

Any time we go to the river we see at least one snake. What time of year is best to not see the snakes? We live in VA. I think it's around November or so that they start to disappear isn't it?

Yum! Anything with bacon is alright by me. LOL I have never made potatoes wrapped with bacon but I did fry hot dogs wrapped with bacon once. Talk about good! The kids loved them!

You know what! I didn't even think of Spiderman! But I bet that's why it was in my head. My kids recently watched the first Spiderman and I think that's why I probably had that thought in my head.

I would bet that most serious hikers have passed marijuana plants at some point in their lives, though they may overlook them. I've never come across anything while hiking. But I did find marijuana in a local field once. Kept my mouth shut about it! :)

Good question. I don't think you can be too cautious when it comes to children and water nearby. It's definitely not a bad idea, particularly when you are busy setting up or packing up.

I have never used those little burners to keep food warm. Is this something I should look into since they're fairly cheap? Or is it a hassle?

One of my kids gets car sick easily so I have to be careful with him reading. And the "Punch-Bug" game will be FORBIDDEN as they take it waaaay too far. :) They find excuses to punch for everything!
