    I miss mountain biking

I miss the trips to the ER from mountain biking. The mountain bike used to put me there more than the dirt bike. Lots of pretty nurses there.

    FlameStower phone charger

Not a big fan of the BioLite if backpacking. Heavy and not very efficient. Backpacker Magazine did review after burning for 37 minutes saw a 13% Increase in battery charge in a iPhone.

    Daniel Boone National Forest

I have several friends that have been backpacking the entire Sheltowee Trace Trail and have seen nothing like that. That trails goes the entire length of the forest so I am willing to say that the reports are blown out of proportion. I also hike in there a good deal and often bushwhack for...

Most Often Used Piece of Gear?

Funny guess would have to say my boots. I carry a pack, knife, headlamp, etc but unless out over night the headlamp is a just in case thing. The knife never gets used, and the pack just kinds of holes the other stuff I almost never use. However footwear is always used.

    Sleeping Pad

How light you want to go and how much you want to spend. Thermarest makes a new one that I believe is the lightest on the market. However it is around 150 buck for a sleeping pad. At least for that price it is insulated. I use a hammock when warm enough so don't need a pad. In the winter I...
