Hey Group! for those of you that make your own jerky... do you have a recipe for a "sticky" marinade? We've tried brown sugars, and honeys in the marinade, but they dont come out with that sticky texture that some brands have. They seem to just sweeten it more... does anyone have any tricks...

We've had a pair of barn owls nest in our palm tree for the last 2 seasons... we've built an owl box for them, as last year the Santa Ana winds blew really bad and blew some of the palm frawns (sp?) down, loosing 5 eggs :( They havent tried the box yet, but we've been told it can take a couple...

Thats good to know... its my main concern, not being able to wash out all the conditioner without needing a refill LOL!

we have the old fashioned camp shower, the black & clear bag you hang from the tree to warm up... we dont use it for full on showers (hair), but just a quick body washing in between trips to the shower blocks. it does the job :)

Never seen that before.... makes me squeemish though... I have a 150lb tortoise cruzing in the back yard LOL!!!

My hubby has been doing it with his brother for about a year now... we'll be seeing what we can find when we head up to Yosemite! I dont remember what they are called, but the ones that have the #"s on the item, that you can track where they've been... thats fun too! We have the last one we...

OMG... firstly, please... go ahead with the smack !!! the replied posted are classic! I got a lot of chuckles!!! I'm assuming the rats are the kids pets, and knowing other kids that have had rats, they are actually good pets. much more social than a hamster and not as nippy as a ferret...

yeah, we may get there and dont care for that campground, but by the sounds of it, it seems to be the one. Not too crowded like the valley, and not too high an elevation, i think its about 7k if i remember right... some are over 8k, where the valley is about 4k. They say to get there around...
