Shrimp and what to do with it

Hi Judy Ann, I don't know bout anyone else's "secret", but when I'm grillin shrimps, I peel'em down to the tail before i put'em on.. Quickness is the real secret...it takes mere moments to cook a shrimp, especially on a grill or over a fire.

    Natural Shelter (No tools)

"Heh. My grandfather taught us that we were the Boogeymen to the things living in the woods. They are more afraid of us than we are of them. You can't fear the Boogeyman if you are the Boogeyman." Yea, though I walk through the valley of death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the meanest...

How long can you keep frozen fish?

+100 on the vacuum sealer. I've eaten fish a year and a half old & it was just like it came out of the water. I've had left-over barbque brisket a year later & tasted like it just came outta the pit. Great little appliance. By the by...it works great for packing extra clothing for a hiking or...

Shrimp and what to do with it

AHHHHHH, shrimps... Absolutely love'em. Judy Ann's right...it is called a low country boil...here in LA we take it a bit farther. With y'alls permission...Start your water to boil. Add 1/2 of your spice. I personally use Louisiana brand powdered shrimp & crab boil and Zataran's liquid crap...

    Redfishing!

Bein from Louisiana, you HAVE to love you some redfish on the half shell. It's almost state law. When you fillet the redfish, just make the first cut at the gillplate, then turn the knife toward the tail. Make that cut all the way through, leaving a slab of meat with the skin on. Rinse it off &...

    Hunting with "silencers"?

The whole idea behind suppressors for hog hunting is that like I said before...hogs is SMART. You shoot one with a loud bang, and the rest scatter. What you wanna do is drop him in his tracks & line up on his cousin and so on. Now the hard part is droppin'em in their tracks. I've seen'em shot...

    Wild Boars

I'm not sure about anywhere else, but I'm pretty sure there's no season on'em here, no limit, AND I believe just recently it was made OK to hunt them at night, either spotlighting them or using night-vision.

Feral hogs are gettin to be quite a problem in several areas of the country. They're pretty thick around here. Whoever said something about climbing a tree to get away from them wasn't kidding. Problem is, they're real smart...smarter than your average dog. You go up a tree...you better be...
