    Hunting with "silencers"?

I don't get your point? Full auto makes a weapon difficult to handle and much more dangerous for most people to try to use. How does a suppressor do that? :tinysmile_hmm_t2: And, as far as I know there's no advantage to laying down a field of fire when hunting? Personally I've never had a...

Long Deer Shot - 950 yards

Not a shot I'd take because I know my own limitations. If I was good enough to make a shot like that I think I'd take it at some point because the 1,000-yard range target isn't the same as a 1,000-yard kill. If I could make a 1,000-yard shot, at some point I'd want a 1,000-yard kill. ;)

    13 politically incorrect gun rules

I've never seen those listed together but I've heard all of them over the years. Good rules.

    Hunting with "silencers"?

Actually I'd say yours was the inane statement. If you think this is what it's about, you must not be in a region where the hogs have essentially eaten everything there is to eat so the deer, turkey and other animal populations are being squeezed out or where crops, livestock, fences and even...

    Hunting with "silencers"?

They just legalized them here in Texas, and there are very legitimate reasons for using suppressors in hunting. The one that comes most readily to mind is the exploding wild pig population that is causing so many problems in many parts of the country. They reproduce so fast they're upsetting...

    Bug Out Motorhome

Some valid points. As I mentioned, I'm looking at alternative fuel options (ethanol, biodiesel, etc). With regard to roads being clogged, I think those of us who think with a prepper-mindset and have pre-arranged someplace to go will leave early and beat the crowds. The theory behind a...

    Spring Flowers in your area?

Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush. They're really beautiful all along the highways here.

    Porpoises

We used to see them sailing a lot. They'd bring the little ones to come ride our bow wake. The adults usually like to do it with bigger, faster craft but I think we were like their training wheels or something.

Do You Use A Helmet When Riding

No, and I also refuse to wear the funny pants with the padded fanny. :D

    Bug Out Motorhome

I've been wanting to find a cheap Class C motorhome on Craigslist and fix it up as my bug out vehicle. I'm going to stock it up with everything I need for that, but I'm sure I'll use it as a camper too for the family. So far I'm looking into solar power options, flex-fuel, a small greenhouse...

    Wild Boars invading New York

They're everywhere around here. They're the only thing you can hunt in Texas w/o a license because they're just such a huge nuisance. They're very destructive and breed so fast they can upset a food chain very quickly in a given area. BUT they're very tasty too! I haven't bought meat from the...

    Bigfoot caliber?

I wonder how a bigfoot rug would look in front of my fireplace? :D I'd use a .338 Winchester Magnum. It's what they use to hunt polar bears.
