    I came across the Fritos method while searching for fire starters online. A friend and I tested the Fritos at work in an outdoor ashtray on a windy day. Despite the wind, it held up nicely.

    Best place to get Lodge dutch ovens

    The Volcano is great if you're cooking small items or just a few items at a time. I've also placed my dutch oven in it to keep the charcoal off my concrete patio in the backyard. For what I paid, it works just fine.

    The link to the story about the shark is found in the words, "800 pound shark" in my original post. The shark was so big that it had to be towed back to the dock instead of being pulled onto the boat.

    @Coz - I've seen that photo around the Internet and it's a Photoshopped image. I was born in raised in San Francisco and can tell you that there aren't any sharks that size within the bay.

    Are you really camping?

    I think camping is more of a state of mind than what you bring with you. I'm at the age where I'd rather be in an RV than in a tent but the important thing to me is getting away from everything.

    Kimchi fried rice

    There's a Korean restaurant across the street from my work that has kimchi fried rice on the menu. I ordered it once and it was so spicy that I had to go home, cook more rice and mix it up. Boy was it delicious.

    Bigfoot

    Even though I've never seen or experienced anything like Bigfoot I like to keep an open mind to the possibility that they do exist. If it's confirmed that they exist I just hope to never seen one while I'm camping. :)

    Do You Use A Helmet When Riding

    I wear a helmet because I have wife and kids who depend on me. Friend of mine told me about this guy who was riding, hit something flipped over the handle bars and smacked his head - no helmet. He was gone the next day. Left behind a small family. I'm not taking any chances.

    Has anyone here ever hired a fishing guide? I've always thought it would be nice for certain spots of the state where I fish so that I can use their experience and knowledge but is it worth it?
